District Initiatives
District Initiatives
Six major initiatives. One shared commitment to student success.
Harlem Community School District 5's six major initiatives translate our district vision into daily practice across schools. Together, these initiatives strengthen literacy, mathematics, social-emotional learning, Black Studies, student support, and long-term pathways for students and families.
Each initiative supports a different part of the student experience, but they are designed to work together. District 5 students deserve strong academic foundations, emotionally supportive school communities, culturally affirming learning, coordinated supports, and clear pathways for future opportunity.
