Multilingual Learners

Supporting multilingual students and families through language access and school partnership.

District 5 supports multilingual learners and families by connecting students to language development supports and helping families access information in a language they understand.

Families with questions about multilingual learner services, language access, translation, interpretation, or school communication should begin by contacting their child's school.

Language access

Families have the right to receive important school information in a language they understand. Families should contact their child's school if they need interpretation, translated materials, or support communicating with school staff.

Multilingual learner support

Schools support multilingual learners through instruction, family communication, and language development supports. Program availability may vary by school, so families should contact their child's school for school-specific information.
